Filming Blog
It was on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm. Chad and Ethan picked me up and we drove over to our destination, Holiday Park to film. The overall atmosphere on this Saturday was perfect for recording. No rain and the area was not crowded with many people. We were able to begin filming smoothly. Although Sebastian hadn't shown up due to his sickness we were able to complete a good portion of our opening in only our first day recording. We found a vacant area near the soccer field and decided to record in this area. We needed a suitable place that best fit the images from our storyboard. After strolling around for a minute we then found the perfect place. Trees and grass best suited the environment we had in mind for our opening scene. Ethan being the director and cameraman then recording some scenes that took places in our storyboard while having Chad rehearse them. Although it took a few tries to get everything right we got it eventually. Memorizing our script proved to be a challenging problem however after just a couple of takes we got it down. Allowing some breaks occasionally we were able to also make small edits to script to better feel the intensity of the situation. After a few takes we were better able to act the role of our characters. Chad being the hero in the situation had to use a more heroic tone. Me being the villain had to sound more smug and villainous. Without Sebastian present we decided to stop the film session after my chance to be in film. In the next recording Ethan and Sebastian should be present in the opening as part of the "mob" in our film. Next Saturday should conclude our opening though edits will have to be made.
